Lake Placid Middle School Art Club Information
What is the Middle School Art Club?
Middle School Art Club a place for students to extend their art experience beyond the classroom. We will do individual and group projects. Some of the projects will be displayed in the school and in the community.
When do we meet?
The Middle School Art Club will meet on Tuesdays from 2:10 until 3:00, beginning November 1 and ending in the end of March. After Spring Break, some students may be chosen to continue to work on specific projects.
How do I sign up?
There will be an informational meeting Tuesday, November 1. To join Art Club, students must turn in a permission slip that is signed by a parent or guardian.
What are the requirements?
1. Have a love for art! Students should have a genuine interest in creating art and improving their art skills.
2. Excellent behavior. Students who have difficulty controlling their behavior will be asked to leave. This includes working well with other students and cleaning up every week. Any students who have behavior issues during the school day will not be allowed to participate in Art Club that day.
3. Good grades. Students must be passing all classes and keeping up with grades. If a student is failing any classes, he/she will not be allowed to participate in art club until he/she is passing all classes. Teachers reserve the right to keep students for 10th period if they are behind in class.
4. Permission slip. Permission slips must be turned in before students may participate in art club.
5. Weekly sign-up. Every Tuesday, there will be a sign-up sheet in the cafeteria during 6th period lunch. Only students who sign up or see Mrs. Huber by 6th period will be allowed to participate that day. This is important for preparing supplies, etc.
